What is the Digital Divide?
The digital divide is dangerous and negatively impacts lives. Looking at K-12 students, the digital divide has consequences on their education, which translates to life-long impacts that the COVID-19 pandemic has only compounded by forcing many schools to shift to online formats. Lack of digital access can also negatively impact economic growth, income, educational performance, healthcare access, and employment searches and applications. Access to technology and the Internet allows people and communities to more efficiently connect and prosper.
